Abstract Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: None. Background We previously reported a proof-of-concept study that digital twins can test antiarrhythmic drug (AAD) effects on atrial fibrillation (AF) after integrating the patients’ cardiac CT imaging and electroanatomical map (EAM). In this study, we evaluated reproducibility virtual AAD (V-AAD) in clinical setting patients who recurred AF catheter ablation (AFCA) took AADs. Methods This single-center retrospective included 232 (71.6% male, 60.5±10.2 years age, 40.9% paroxysmal AF) were prescribed AADs AFCA due to real or high chance recurrence. Clinical (C-AAD) chosen at discretion primary care physician blinded V-AAD test. All those underwent using reflecting anatomy, histology, electrophysiology by EAM. The ion currents for each (amiodarone, sotalol, dronedarone, flecainide, propafenone; 2 doses drug) defined based previous publications. most efficient as terminated fastest. association between recurrence rate while C-AAD V-AAD, which showed excellent termination/ defragmentation twins. METHODS Using a large national administrative claims database, we identified all atrial fibrillation patients ($18 years of age) who underwent catheter ablation between January 2005 and December 2013 (n 1⁄4 7,442). We identified the subset of patients who had not been on an AAD in the 90 days before ablation (n1⁄4 2,542) and, among those, the patients in whom an AAD was initiated at discharge f...

متن کاملCatheter Ablation Versus Antiarrhythmic Drugs for Atrial Fibrillation
Background—The mainstay of treatment for atrial fibrillation (AF) remains pharmacological; however, catheter ablation has increasingly been used over the last decade. The relative merits of each strategy have not been extensively studied. Methods and Results—We conducted a randomized multicenter comparison of these 2 treatment strategies in patients with paroxysmal AF resistant to at least 1 an...
متن کاملWhich patients recur as atrial tachycardia rather than atrial fibrillation after catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation?
INTRODUCTION The ablation gaps have been known as the main mechanism of recurrence as atrial tachycardia (AT) rather than atrial fibrillation (AF) after AF catheter ablation. However, AF organization due to reduction of critical mass or focal trigger may also be the mechanism of AT recurrence. We sought to find out the main clinical factors of recurrence as AT rather than AF after AF ablation i...
متن کاملCost-effectiveness of radiofrequency catheter ablation compared with antiarrhythmic drug therapy for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.
BACKGROUND Radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFA) has emerged as an important treatment strategy for atrial fibrillation (AF). The potential cost-effectiveness of RFA for AF, relative to antiarrhythmic drug (AAD) therapy, has not been fully explored from a US perspective. METHODS AND RESULTS We constructed a Markov disease simulation model for a hypothetical cohort of patients with drug-refra...
